Decor-eze -
This icing is a unique invention of Sugar Petals. A
similar medium to Gum Paste, consists of gelatin and confectioner's sugar
without Gum Tragacanth. Decor-eze has a very light flavor as with
Pastillage. The difference between this and Pastillage is that Decor-eze
icing flowers stay soft and supple. Flowers made from this icing has the
feel of the natural flower and, like all our sugar flowers featured on this
site, is 100% edible.
Gum Paste
- Icing in dough form consisting of gelatin, confectioner's sugar and gum
tragacanth (preservative used to keep the dough from drying too fast).
Hand-piped
- The art form of squeezing icing out of a pastry bag.
Pastillage - Similar
medium to Gum Paste, consists of gelatin and
confectioner's sugar without Gum Tragacanth.
This particular icing made with a gelatin base has a very light &
non-offensive flavor. Much like the art of making Gum Paste Flowers,
Pastillage flowers are produced petal by petal, stamen by stamen to meet the
quality standards of Sugar Petals.
Royal Icing -
An icing consisting of egg albumen & Confectioner's Sugar.
This icing is used with a pastry bag to pipe each and every petal. Because
the flowers are piped and not hand formed like the Pastillage flowers or Decor-eze,
the petals come out slightly thicker. However, Sugar Petals has come up
with a system to keep the weight on each flower very light.
